Real Steel

Most of the people I talk with about the new movie "Real Steel" want to comment on how it looks like Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots. I suppose you can't wonder about that, but when movies are just remakes of game, I'll stop going to them.

I love technology, and knowing something about how a movie was made prior to going to see it, makes it all that much more fun. So, when I started working on an article for www.EntertainmentEngineering.com about the materials used to create the giant, 8-foot tall robots for the movie, I got much more interested in the plot of the movie. Learning that the original idea came from a science fiction author (Richard Matheson), had me even more interested.

So, I wrote the article--which was really cool. And, I went to see the movie...and watched the Twilight Zone episode, and read the story. And, for those who were worried that "Real Steel" is like the Rock 'em game, it isn't. It's a great story, and a fun movie to watch. I really liked it and give a strong two-thumbs up (I only have two thumbs).
